It has been exactly 1 year since I was queen of the ModQ ImprovB group. You can see my post from August 2013 here. For my first round as queen, I asked the group to make me improvisational house blocks in bright colors on a white background with plenty of negative space. Above shows what I received! I was thrilled when I received the blocks, but I wanted the quilt to somehow be bigger. So it sat. For a year. Oops. This year I am queen for the month of October and I am going to ask for improv TREES to go with my houses to help make the quilt bigger. Bonus points for anyone who can do a tree with a swing! Or fort...the possibilities are endless. I have added some quilts with improv trees to my "Improv House" Pinterest page. The comments on the pins are my own. Below is a quilt done by Sewn by Leila - I love the blocks in this quilt. Details for my bee-mates:
- Please use a solid white fabric for your background again. - Please make blocks 12.5" tall. They can be 6.5" or 12.5" wide. - Please use bright modern fabrics where applicable (trunks would be brown I guess) - Have fun! I loved all of your creativity in the first round and can't wait to see what I get this time.
