Here we are in a new year and it is time to make my Q1 To Do list! I am still working away on my 4 cabin quilts, and have been disciplined in not starting NEW projects until I get these guys done, so all of these are left over as unfinished projects from Q4 of 2014. 1. Bear Paw Cabin Quilt - this one is basted and I am in the process of quilting! 2. Star Cabin Quilt - Top and back are finished, but it still needs to be basted, quilted, and bound. 3. Plus Cabin Quilt - Top and back are finished, but it still needs to be basted, quilted, and bound. 4. Flying Geese Cabin Quilt - Top and back are finished, but it still needs to be basted, quilted, and bound. Last Up: I'm getting close to having all of the blocks for my last two years as Mod Q Improv B Queen. They're up on the design wall, and I'm working on making final layout decisions. So #5 is my Improv Neighborhood Quilt (hmmm....I'm not settled on a name yet either). I talked about this quilt previously here and here. Linking up with Adrianne from On the Windy Side for the 2015 Quilt-a-Long.

I completed my addition to the 5th round of our Modern Round Robin. You can read more about this group project here (fox quilt and ocean quilt). You can read about my center block here. This quilt was started by Kimberly Swink (one of the Swink Girls) and has been added to by three other people. When I received the quilt it looks like this (below) and came with a few extra blocks (shown on the left). For my contribution, I added the asymmetrical wonky triangle border using a paper-piecing pattern that I won a couple of years ago from Owen's Olivia. I used a text print from Alison Glass' Sun Print collection as the background for the triangles, and used fabrics that were provided by Kimberly Swink for the triangles. The Sun Print Text fabric was part of the stash of fabric that Kimberly sent along with her block, and luckily I had more in my own personal stash to complete the border. This quilt's journey is now complete and it will head back to Kimberly. Now all that is left of the round robin for me is to wait for my quilt to be returned. I'm very curious to see what all was added to it and how big it is now!
